This was inspired by and partially referenced from a photoshoot of the vocalist of Rentrer en Soi, one of my favorite bands, found in a fashion magazine. (link) I've had the photo on my desktop for ages, and I kept thinking how I'd love to paint it. So I did. ;] It's not really a fanart as it's not meant to be the vocalist, but it's definitely a tribute to a band and genre I love. I play Rentrer en Soi a lot when I paint.

I wanted to transform the character in the photo into my own image. I can’t stand when people fill their galleries with images copied straight off photos with nothing of themselves added in. Hopefully I did not fall victim to that. Did a lot of experimentation with color, light, and depth on this one.
