Mhegoriah of the Dhuriiehm.

As some of you may know, this image has quite a story behind it. In February 2008, it was stolen from the painting studio of my college along with several other student works. I was devastated, to say the least. I’d poured months of work into it. The incident wrecked my creative drive for about half a year.

Inexplicably, it turned up in a side stairwell of the art building about five weeks after it was stolen with some superficial damage but otherwise intact. I’m still baffled about it—at first I thought the thief had a change of heart, but not hours later the same day, a large finished painting by one of my friends went missing. That still has not resurfaced. What the hell.

In any case, as thrilled as I was to get it back I couldn’t bring myself to look at it for months. It sat in my closet the whole summer, and once I went back to school it was difficult to find time to work on it. Finally, in January, I was able to finish it. So here she is.

Acylics on canvas, 24"x30".

beautiful work glad you got it back i love the amount of details and the fierce warrior pose.

i hope they catch who stole the paintings, my guess as to why they left yours was probably someone was walking around and they got scared to be seen moving it, they probably would had gone back to get it.
